Something Beautiful

Today I witnessed something beautiful. It wasn't a person or an object. It was an act of love, friendship, rememberence, and respect. Century High School lost a student this weekend. Although I didn't know him personally, everyone has been telling me that Josh was an amazing person. I've heard that he was nice to everybody and just wanted to be your friend. All the good things I've heard about him made me wish that I would have known him.

I saw so many people cry, hug, and laugh as they remembered Josh. But the most moving part, was that everyone wore orange today to remember him. I didn't get the memo, however. But now I feel bad for not wearing orange.

Our school was one unit today. Not divided by cliques, or groups of our closest friends. We all came together to remember someone that is truely missed and it was beautiful. It brought me to tears to see everyone hugging and crying in the lunchroom as I walked to second period. Obviously, Josh was incredibly important.

My heart and prayers go out to all of his friends and those lucky enough to know him, especially his family. I know what it's like to lose a loved one but I can't imagine their heartache right now.
Rest in Peace, Josh.
Even those of us that don't know you, miss you.
